Question:

73 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid the balance of his cattle headage and beef premium grants.

The person named was paid an advance under the 1993 cattle headage scheme on 20 December 1993 and the balance was paid on 28 April 1994.

He applied on one ten month animal under the january/February special beef premium scheme but was found ineligible for payment as he sold the animal before he got the identity card stamped and punched.

He applied on one ten month animal under the June 1993 special beef premium scheme and was paid an advance on 15 December 1993 and an outstanding balance on 26 April 1994.

He again applied for the special beef premium on one ten month animal in November 1993. This application is being processed and payment will be made as soon as possible.

He also applied for suckler cow premium on seven cows in 1993 but as three of the cows were not of a beef breed he was eligible for payment on four cows only. He was paid £332.18 on 17 December 1993 on foot of this application which was an overpayment of £15.82. This amount was recouped from his payment under the June special beef premium on 26 April 1994.
