Vol. 444 No. 3

Written Answers. - Disadvantaged Areas.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

74 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a decision will be made on the application of Cremartin DED to be included in the more severely handicapped area.

The current position with regard to appeals from areas seeking reclassification to the more severely handicapped areas is that the disadvantaged areas appeals panel recently completed its examination of all areas under appeal, including Cremartin DED. I expect to receive its report next month. Based on an examination of this report, I will make a submission to the EU Commission of reclassification of areas at the earliest possible date.
