Vol. 444 No. 5

Written Answers. - Government Decentralisation Programme.

Dan Wallace

Question:

131 Mr. D. Wallace asked the Minister for Health, in relation to State bodies under the aegis of his Department, the number and location of posts that have been transferred from Dublin under the Government's decentralisation programme since 1987, the number of persons who transferred from Dublin to those locations; and the proposals, if any, there are for further decentralisation.

No State bodies under the aegis of my Department have been transferred from Dublin under the Government's decentralisation programme since 1987. However, it has been decided to decentralise the General Register Office, which is responsible for records of births, marriages and deaths, to Roscommon town.
