Vol. 446 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

Liam Burke

Question:

233 Mr. L. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in payment of subsidy for 14 cattle born in the period January to March 1991, in respect of which relevent details required for payment were sent to his Department on 17 June 1993, for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and when payment will issue. [2054/94]

The person named applied for grants on 14 animals under the June 1993 special beef premium scheme. On checking this application it has been found that ten of the animals applied for were ineligible for grants because the ages declared for them by the applicant were inconsistent with the ages declared on the same animals by the same applicant on a previous application. Payment in respect of the remaining four animals less a deduction for an overpayment made in respect of extensification premium will issue shortly. The application of the person named for grants on six animals under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and will also issue shortly. Delay in making this payment has arisen because of a clerical error.

His application for a grant on one animal under the January 1994 ten month special beef premium scheme is being processed at present, and if found in order, payment will issue as soon as possible.
