331 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the grant application by a school (details supplied) in County Cavan for the building of an extra classroom; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3080/94]
My Department has received an application from the chairman of the board of management requesting grant-aid towards the cost of an extra classroom already built by the local community.
The Department did not authorise grant aid for this building and in the light of the declining enrolment in the school, it is satisfied that the extra classroom was not warranted. I am not therefore in a position to allow grant-aid towards its construction.
