Vol. 448 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowances.

Liam Aylward

Question:

82 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance if he will have arrangements made to have proper tax free allowance issued to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [2215/95]

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that an incorrect certificate of tax-free allowances issued to the taxpayer in error on 20 January 1995. However, his allowance have now been corrected and, as a result, and amended certificate will be issued shortly restoring the weekly tax-free allowance of £90.21, effective from the date of issue, with tax chargeable at Table R (27 per cent). In the meantime, the inspector of taxes has contacted the taxpayer's employer to ensure that the correct tax-free allowance will be implemented without delay pending the issue of the amended certificate.
