Vol. 449 No. 3
70 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education if she intends to provide a teacher's assistant in each class for children with moderate intellectual disabilities. [3611/95]
75 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education if she will make resources available to finance the appointment of at least one teacher's assistant in each class of pupils with moderate intellectual disabilities. [3547/95]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 70 and 75 together. I recently announced that I intend to allocate an additional 100 child care assistant posts in 1995. These posts will be allocated on a priority basis having regard to the level of need for such services among the various categories of children involved. The needs of children with moderate intellectual disabilities will be fully considered in the context of this allocation.
