Vol. 449 No. 8

Written Answers. - Ballina (Mayo) Day Care Centre.

Tom Moffatt

Question:

20 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for Health the proposals, if any, he has for the Western Health Board for the provision of a day care centre at St. Joseph's Hospital, Ballina, County Mayo in view of the fact that Ballina is the third biggest town in Connacht and the only town of its size without such a facility; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4194/95]

Limerick East): In the first instance, responsibility for the provision of day care services at St. Joseph's Hospital, Ballina is a matter for the Western Health Board. The board inform me that it does not intend to develop such services at St. Joseph's, Ballina. However, day care services are currently provided at St. Augustine's Welfare Home in Ballina. The board is also providing aid to Ballina Social Services Council to provide day care services in the town of Ballina.
