Vol. 450 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Monaghan Waste Study Report.

James Leonard

Question:

41 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for the Environment when funding will be made available to implement the recommendations in the County Monaghan farm waste study report. [4231/95]

The study's recommendations cover a range of issues, the implementation of which fall to be considered, as appropriate, by the Departments and State bodies concerned, by Monaghan County Council, and by the waste producers.

My Department has arranged that assistance will be made available to Monaghan County Council under the recently agreed Environmental Protection Sub-Programme of INTERREG II towards the cost of a feasibility study for a centralised waste processing utility in County Monaghan, which was one of the principal recommendations made in the study.
