Vol. 451 No. 2

Written Answers. - Dublin Pupil Places.

Frances Fitzgerald

Question:

87 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Education is she will give details of the examination of the availability of pupil places in the Ranelagh, Rathmines and Donnybrook areas which was undertaken by the primary inspectorate of her Department. [6328/95]

The review of the availability of pupil places in the Ranelagh, Rathmines and Donnybrook areas, which my Department carried out, concluded that sufficient school accommodation exists to cater for children from those areas.

Some schools in those areas are, however, enrolling children from outside the immediate or parish area and this may lead to pressure on school places.

Enrolment policy, such as enrolling by reference to the age and place of residence of pupils, is a matter for the board of management of each particular school.
