Vol. 451 No. 5

Written Answers. - Competing Enterprises.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

167 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications his views on whether those persons availing of early retirement packages in State bodies and subsidiaries under his control should be legally prevented from entering into other employment or contracts with businesses which operate in competition with their former employers; if he will instruct the State bodies accordingly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6727/95]

Restraint on former employees to take up work in competing enterprises is normally a contractual matter between employer and employee and does not require intervention by me.
