Vol. 451 No. 6

Written Answers. - Education Grant.

Tony Killeen

Question:

86 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Education if she will review the third-level grant application of a family (details supplied) in County Clare. [7053/95]

In accordance with regulations universally applied students are subject to the conditions of the scheme of the year of entry to third level.

On that basis the students mentioned by the Deputy do not qualify as their parents' income exceeds the relevant income eligibility limits.

However, the family will benefit from my recently announced decision to reduce fees for full-time undergraduate courses, by 50 per cent in 1995 and to abolish such fees in 1996.
