89 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the Ballyjamesduff sewerage scheme; if this scheme has been included in an application for Cohesion funding; if so, the date the application was made and when it is expected to receive approval from the European Commission; and if his attention has been drawn to the need to have this project commence at the earliest possible date. Contract documents for this scheme were submitted to my Department in 1994. The project has been included in the Lough Ree catchment protection scheme, an application for which was submitted by my Department to the EU Commission for Cohesion Fund assistance in December 1994. My Department awaits the Commission's determination of the application.
