Vol. 452 No. 6

Written Answers. - Sligo School Enrolment.

Edward Nealon

Question:

49 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that a continuous and exceptional increase in enrolment at a school (details supplied) in County Sligo, contrary to national trends and particularly trends in the west of Ireland, has given rise to an urgent need for the provision of additional accommodation; if she has examined the submission from the school regarding this matter; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8444/95]

I am aware of the accommodation needs of this school. Responding to the increase in pupil enrolments, my Department authorised the provision of additional accommodation in 1994 and further additional accommodation has recently been sanctioned. Arrangements are being made accordingly.
