Vol. 452 No. 7

Written Answers. - Accommodation for Young Offenders.

John O'Donoghue

Question:

40 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, she has to liaise with the Department of Health in relation to the provision of suitable secure accommodation for young offenders or those judged to be a danger to themselves and society. [8411/95]

This whole matter is at present being considered by an interdepartmental committee representative of the Departments of Health, Justice and Education, chaired by Minister of State, Deputy Currie, and I am confident that the committee will resolve any difficulties that may arise from lack of co-ordination between the relevant Departments.
