Vol. 454 No. 1

Written Answers. - Meath Sewerage Schemes.

Mary Wallace

Question:

99 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for the Environment the position regarding the improvements required to the main sewerage scheme for several towns (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement regarding each of the towns. [10150/95]

There is no proposal at present with my Department in relation to sewerage facilities at Rathoath, where secondary treatment facilities have already been provided.

Proposals for Dunshaughlin sewerage scheme have been included under stage II of the River Boyne catchment protection scheme for which an application for assistance from the Cohesion Fund has been submitted to the European Commission. The Commission's decision is expected shortly.
Preliminary reports for sewerage schemes to serve Ashbourne and Dunboyne have been submitted to my Department. Given the high level of demands under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve them.
