Vol. 454 No. 2

Written Answers. - Garda Station Improvement Works.

Ivor Callely

Question:

60 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice the number and location of Garda stations that are awaiting approval for improvement and extension works in the Dublin Metropolitan Area; and when sanction will be given. [10279/95]

Major refurbishment works and extensions are required at Ballyfermot, Clondalkin, Ballymun, Raheny, Bray, Crumlin, Dundrum, Mountjoy and Rathmines.

Refurbishment works are required at Santry, Rathfarnham, Clontarf, Irish-town, Kevin Street, Kilmainham and Whitehall.

It is proposed to build new stations at Store Street, Kill-o'-the-Grange and Blanchardstown.

A new station is being built in Blackrock at present and major refurbishment works are in progress at Pearse Street, Donnybrook, Fitzgibbon Street and Ronanstown. The above works will be addressed in the order of the priority assigned to them in the Garda building programme and on the basis of the funds available for such works.
