Vol. 454 No. 4

Written Answers. - Export Credit Insurance Scheme.

David Andrews

Question:

149 Mr. Andrews asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the plans, if any, he has for the future of the export credit insurance scheme. [10944/95]

As the Deputy may be aware, the State export credit insurance scheme was restructured at the end of 1991. Cover is now provided for short term political risk and medium-term commercial and political risk. Short-term commercial risk cover, provided by the State up to end of 1991, must now be obtained from the private sector.

I have no plans to change the current operation of the scheme.
