I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Brendan Smith — the need to approve Virginia sewerage scheme, County Cavan; (2) Deputy Ned O'Keeffe — the cost to the State of old motor cars arising from the £1,000 grant payable in respect of ten-year old motor cars; (3) Deputy Eric Byrne — the implications for media diversity of the absence from the market of the Irish Press, the Evening Press and the Sunday Press; and the consequent attempt by News International to further penetrate the Irish newspaper market; (4) Deputy McDaid — the need for action to resolve the situation that exists in relation to the taxation of casual workers in the mushroom industry in the Border counties; (5) Deputy Ring — the case of a foreign national (details supplied) whose application for a work permit has been refused; (6) Deputy Quill — the need to provide details regarding the change in ownership of Sunbeam Limited; the need to outline the conditions attaching to the State grant of £400,000; the number of jobs that will be created and the timeframe within which these jobs will be created; (7) Deputy Lawlor — the proposed acquisition of Shackleton House and the lands and gardens attaching thereto; (8) Deputy Tom Kitt — the Dunnes Stores dispute; (9) Deputy Power — the Kilcullen sewerage situation; (10) Deputy Noel Ahern — the proposed dumping of an obsolete oil rig by Shell in the North Sea; (11) Deputy Keogh — the lack of school places and facilities for students who have been expelled because of disruptive behaviour and the lack of a comprehensive school psychological service to cope with these and other children with special needs.
