Vol. 454 No. 8

Written Answers. - Donegal Garda Appointment.

Patrick D. Harte

Question:

61 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for Justice when a Garda will be assigned to fill the vacancy in Carndonagh, County Donegal, which was caused by the resignation of a long-serving member. [11593/95]

The Garda authorities are responsible for the detailed allocation of manpower and resources to individual areas.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that there is a sergeant and two gardaí stationed at Carndonagh at present. They also inform me that a Garda retired at Carndonagh station on 13 March 1995 and that arrangements are being made at present to fill this vacancy. I understand that the vacancy will be filled in the near future.
