68 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Defence the total cost of air transport for Government Ministers from 16 December 1994 to date in 1995; if he will give a breakdown of internal and external flights; the total cost of each; the way in which it was calculated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Committee on Ministerial Transport which was established earlier this year is re-examining the costs per flying hour of aircraft used in connection with the Ministerial Air Transport Service. It is expected that the review of the committee will be finalised shortly.
In the period 16 December 1994 to 19 June 1995, inclusive, Air Corps aircraft carried out 157 flights involving the transport of Ministers of which 106 were external and the balance were internal.
