115 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if in relation to the EU liberalisation policy affecting several semi-State bodies under his Department's control, namely Aer Lingus, ESB, Telecom Éireann and An Post, the EU Commission has devised any social policy to deal with the implications of its directives; if he will give details of these; and if they are at all times implemented by his Department when operating the liberalisation directives. I am not aware of any EU social policy initiatives which specifically focus on State bodies under the responsibility of my Department in regard to EU liberalisation policy. However, matters relating to EU social policy generally are the responsibility of the Department of Enterprise and Employment.
