Vol. 457 No. 7

Written Answers. - Galway Flats complex.

Robert Molloy

Question:

177 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in proceeding with major refurbishment works at Rahoon Park, Galway, as outlined in a statement issued by the Minister of State at his Department some time ago; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16318/95]

The Rahoon flats complex was designated for funding under the remedial works scheme in April 1994, subject to Galway Corporation carrying out, prior to the commencement of the work, a detailed structural survey of the flats. A report was received in April this year and, following discussions between the corporation and my Department, revised documentation and costings for the proposed work are now awaited from the corporation.
