216 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education if a decision in principle has been reached on the long awaited Irish speaking community college for the west Dublin/Kildare area; if a Lucan location has been identified on land in the Ballyowen area currently owned by Dublin Corporation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach):

I accept, in principle, the need for an all-Irish post-primary school to serve the west Dublin/north Kildare area.

Towards that end, my Department has been investigating a number of sites in that area and the Deputy will appreciate that a definitive decision will depend on the outcome of this investigation.
