228 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Education the number and percentage of veterinary surgeons over the past ten years who graduated out of their course intake five years previously. [16284/95]

Notes:
The figures show that almost all students entering veterinary Medicine qualify. Differences in the number of graduates in any one year and the entrants five years previously can be attributed to a number of causes:
(i) non-completion of courses; this is small in the case of veterinary medicine,
(ii) taking a "year out" which would lengthen the time taken to completion,
(iii) repeating a year, having failed an earlier year. This would lengthen the time taken to completion.
