Vol. 457 No. 7

Written Answers. - Vehicles Weight Limit.

Noel Treacy

Question:

43 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for the Environment the current position pertaining to the proposals in his Department for a 44 ton maximum permitted weight limit for heavy goods vehicles in Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16262/95]

Consideration of proposals to allow the use of vehicles with a maximum laden weight of 44 tonnes, subject to certain strict conditions, is at an advanced stage. I hope to make a decision on the matter at an early date.
