Vol. 457 No. 7

Written Answers. - Forestry Plantations.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

49 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for the Environment the outcome, if any, of discussions between his Department and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry with regard to amending the thresholds below which environmental impact assessments and planning permission are not required with regard to forestry plantations in view of his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 104 of 1 June 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16156/95]

These discussions are continuing but I am endeavouring to have them brought to a conclusion as soon as possible.
