Question:

110 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Health the current staffing and structure of the childcare division in the Department of Health; the number of persons working in the childcare division on 1 October 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16225/95]

On 1 October 1995 the staffing complement of the child care policy unit of the Department of Health was as follows: one principal officer, three assistant principal officers, one social work adviser, two higher executive officers, two executive officers, one clerical assistant/clerical, one clerical assistant/ typing.

The work of the unit is divided into three sub-sections, each of which is under the responsibility of an assistant principal officer.

Since my appointment on 20 December 1994 four additional staff have been appointed to the child care policy unit.
