78 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the date and venue of his planned food event; the anticipated cost of this event; the anticipated cost of public relations for this event; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17109/95]
I have asked An Bord Bia to organise an international food event consisting of an exhibition and a conference with the main objective of increasing awareness among international buyers of Ireland's capacity to produce top quality food and thus contributing to the realisation of the targets set for the food industry.
The event will take place in the RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin, from 11-13 June 1996. I have indicated my intention to provide £1 million through the grant-in-aid for An Bord Bia as the State's contribution to the cost of the event. It is expected that the industry itself will also contribute. The total cost of the event and the cost of individual components is a matter for An Bord Bia.
