Question:71 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if payment of maintenance grants to third-level students who are studying abroad in other EU countries, including the United Kingdom, will be granted. [17487/95]
Written Answers. - Maintenance Grants.
The 1995 budget statement indicated that maintenance grants under the higher education grants scheme would be extended to approved courses being followed by Irish students studying abroad with effect from the 1996-97 academic year. The detailed arrangements to give effect to this commitment are under consideration in my Department at present.
