Vol. 459 No. 3

Written Answers. - Purchase of Donegal School.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

63 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Finance when the sale of the national school on Gola Island, County Donegal was advertised; where the sale was advertised; when it was purchased; the name of the purchaser; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18201/95]

The State's leasehold interest in the school was advertised for sale by public tender during week ending Friday 24 March 1972 in The Irish Times, the Irish Independent, the Irish Press and in two provincial newspapers, the Donegal Democrat and the People's Press. The highest bid was submitted by a Mr. John F. Stewart, 30 Prussia Street, Dublin 7 and the State's interest in the school was sold to him, the sale being completed in November 1973.
