349 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education if Blanchardstown is the location of the west Dublin regional technical college as per the recommendations of the steering committee on the future of higher education; if the relevant provision has been made for the commencement of this project in the 1996 Public Capital Programme; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The steering committee report on the future development of higher education recommended the establishment of a regional technical college in Blanchardstown. This report and the more recently received advice of the Higher Education Authority on the recommendations of the committee are at present being examined by the Department. Pending a final decision in the matter no specific provision has been included in the 1996 third level capital programme for the project.
