Vol. 460 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Special Interest Gardens.

Helen Keogh

Question:

38 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the steps, if any, being taken to develop special interest gardens as a tourist attraction. [1477/96]

Under the Operational Programme for Tourism, 1994-1999, specific provision is made for financial assistance towards the development of Ireland's stately gardens as a tourism resource. Applications for assistance are decided upon by the product development management boards established in Bord Fáilte and Shannon Development for the purposes of determining EU grant aid under the programme.
