Vol. 460 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Cultural Development Incentives Scheme.

Declan Bree

Question:

56 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the total number of applications received nationwide for grant-aid under the cultural development incentives scheme 1994 to 1999; the number of applications received from County Leitrim; and the total amount of structural funds that will be made available under the scheme. [1519/96]

The total number of applications received by my Department for funding under the cultural development incentives scheme 1994-1999 was 170, of which one was in respect of a project in County Leitrim.

The amount available under the scheme, through a combination of EU Structural Funds and Exchequer funding, is £19.7 million. In addition, the developers of all projects to which funding will be made available will be asked to provide a minimum of 25 per cent towards the cost of the project, giving a total expenditure under the scheme in the period up to 1999 of the order of £26.3 million.
