Vol. 461 No. 5

Written Answers. - Ministerial Office Staff.

Ivor Callely

Question:

118 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice the current number of personnel working in her ministerial offices and the office of her Minister(s) of State; the number of personnel who have been seconded or employed on a non-established contract basis; the competition process for filling such positions; the advertisements, if any, made regarding these appointments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3302/96]

Twelve full-time civil servants and three nonestablished staff — one of whom is my Dáil secretary — are employed in my ministerial office.

Minister of State Burton has three full-time civil servants and one seconded staff who is employed in an established capacity and once non-established staff in her office.

Minister of State Currie has two full-time civil servants only in his office.
There were no advertisements for any of the non-established posts in any of the offices.
