Vol. 461 No. 7

Written Answers. - Viking Site Report.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

159 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if the report on the site known as Dunrally Fort in the townland of Vicars-town, County Laois, has been completed, following the discovery of a Viking site in the area in 1995; when a decision on the protection of the site under the National Monuments Acts will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3565/96]

On foot of a study by the National Museum the site of Dunrally Fort has been entered on the register of historic monuments which affords it statutory protection.
