Vol. 461 No. 7

Written Answers. - School Playground Facilities.

Austin Deasy

Question:

53 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if she will ensure that the provision of playground facilities for which grant-aid has been approved for Coolnasmear national school, Dungarvan, County Waterford, proceeds immediately in view of her letter dated 31 August 1995, which stated that works would be carried out as soon as possible. [1968/96]

In May 1995, my Department sanctioned grant-aid towards the cost of providing a ballcourt at Coolnasmear national school. The local Office of Public Works were subsequently requested to assist the school in having the works carried out.

My Department has recently been in contact with the Office of Public Works in Waterford who have undertaken to contact the school with a view to having the works executed as soon as possible.
