Byrne asked the Minister for Health the number of confirmed suicides that have been presented at the Dublin city morgue in the previous six months for which figures are available; the comparative figures for the previous three six monthly periods; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Limerick East): Statistics on mortality are compiled by the Central Statistics Office and published in the quarterly and annual reports on vital statistics. In relation to deaths from suicide in Dublin County Borough the figures requested by the Deputy are provided in the following table. The fourth quarter of 1993 is the last period for which finalised figures by year of occurrence are available.
