98 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of farmers in counties Cavan and Monaghan who wish to participate in the control of farmyard pollution scheme but who have been unable to apply in view of the closure of this scheme; the proposals, if any, he has to reopen this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Smith asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of applications in counties Cavan and Monaghan received under the control of farmyard pollution scheme, the dairy hygiene scheme and the REP scheme; the number of approvals issued under each scheme; and the proposals, if any, there are to eliminate the backlog of applications. There are no plans to reopen the control of farm pollution scheme. All applicants have been written to in line with the revised procedures for the CFP.
