88 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction the proposal by Cavan County Council to provide a new branch library in Cootehill, County Cavan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7865/96]

Proposals for a branch library in Cootehill have been received in my Department. Having regard to the high level of demand for funding for library proposals generally, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve the proposals.
