Written Answers. - State Boards.

Tony Killeen

Question:

232 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications cations if an age limit applies in respect of members of State boards under the aegis of his Department. [8770/96]

In general, it is policy not to appoint or reappoint persons to State boards if they are over 70 years of age. Where serving members reach the age of 70 during their term of office, they may continue in office for the remainder of their term.
