Vol. 465 No. 2

Written Answers. - Liffey Catchment Plan.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

70 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for the Environment the funding that has been obtained to date from the EU cohesion fund in respect of the River Liffey catchment plan; if he will give a timetable for the completion of the proposed works, including the Lower Liffey sewerage scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9294/96]

To date, no funding has been obtained from the Cohesion Fund in respect of the river Liffey Catchment Plan. The application for funding was submitted to the European Commission in 1994.

It is anticipated that the proposed works, including the Lower Liffey valley sewerage scheme, will be completed by the end of 1999.
