76 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount outstanding in uncollected agricultural rates; the guidelines, if any, that he intends issuing to local authorities regarding the collection of such outstanding sums; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9292/96]

The total amount of uncollected agricultural rates in respect of 1982 and earlier years was £19.9 million at 31 December 1987. It is a matter for each local authority to decide the action, if any, to be taken in relation to the collection of outstanding amounts.
