175 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Education the status of an application for a national lottery grant from an organisation (details supplied) in County Offaly; and if she will make a statement on the prospect of lottery grants being paid in 1996 to sporting and local community organisations under the small schemes. My Department has received an application for grant assistance under the recreational facilities scheme from the organisation in question.

I expect to be in a position this year to increase the number of commitments under this scheme and I will give every consideration to the application when decisions are being made on the grant allocations.
