Vol. 465 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dundalk (Louth) Building Project.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

134 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment the estimated costs of the entire contract in respect of a project (details supplied) in County Louth; the cost per unit; the site preparation costs; the estimated cost of replacement of the existing community hall on the site; the subhead from which the cost of such replacement is taken; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9812/96]

The approved budget cost for the provision of 24 houses at O'Hanlon Park-Culhane Street, Dundalk, is £1,310,910, or £54,621 per house. The approved cost includes provisions of approximately £300,000 for site development works and £39,375 for the replacement of the community hall. The cost of the scheme, including the replacement of the community hall, will be funded from the council's allocation for local authority house construction, including the grant element provided for in Subhead B.1.1. of the Department's Vote.
