Vol. 465 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ivor Callely

Question:

99 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total number of farmers that will be eligible to claim a grant or subsidy from his Department in 1996; and the estimated total payments that will be made in 1996. [10635/96]

Eligibility to claim a grant or subsidy cannot be determined until the relevant application is received and processed.

Payments, other than in respect of investment grants, animal disease eradication and the farm retirement scheme, amounting to £726.3 million were paid to about 160,000 producers in 1995.
