Question:176 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice when she was informed by the Garda of the problems concerning the Anthony Duncan extradition warrant. [11017/96]
Written Answers. - Extradition Failure.
I would refer the Deputy to the statement I made on this matter in the Dáil on 23 May. As indicated in that statement and in the course of my answers to questions which followed, I was informed on the morning of 13 April, by an official of my Department who was being apprised of developments in the court by the Garda authorities, that there was a problem in the court that morning with the warrant. I then asked the official who had phoned me about these developments to ask the Secretary of my Department to seek a full report on the matter from the Garda Síochána. This report was submitted to my Department by the Garda on 21 May 1996.
