Vol. 466 No. 1

Written Answers. - DART Station Facilities.

Ivor Callely

Question:

47 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications whether he will support and encourage the development of appropriate car parking facilities at DART stations; if his attention has been drawn to the car parking problems at such stations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10804/96]

I recently approved the allocation of funding under the Operational Programme for Transport 1994-99 for a package of investment in DART and other suburban rail services in Dublin. The total cost of the package is £17 million which includes £500,000 towards the development of park and ride sites along the DART corridor.

CIE has responsibility for implementing the individual elements of the package. I have no direct responsibility in such matters.
