Written Answers. - Speech and Language Therapists' Pay Claim.

Question:

61 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Health the progress, if any, that has been made in the review of the pay structures for speech and language therapists; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11341/96]

Limerick East): A pay claim submitted by IMPACT on behalf of speech and language therapists is being processed under clause 2 (iii) A — Annex 1 of the Programme for Competitiveness and Work.

While discussions to date have not been conclusive, the management side remains available to resume, with a view to negotiating a mutually acceptable outcome.

In these circumstances, any further comment on my part would not be appropriate or helpful.
