Vol. 467 No. 7

Written Answers. - Shannon Airport (Clare) Consultative Committee.

Robert Molloy

Question:

414 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the plans, if any, he has to appoint a representative from County Clare to the advisory group established to examine the future of Shannon Airport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14192/96]

I presume that the Deputy is referring to the consultative committee on the marketing of Shannon Airport, which is the only Shannon Airport related committee functioning under the aegis of my Department.

That committee, which is under the chairmanship of the Mid-Western Regional Authority, has a number of representatives from County Clare including representatives of Clare County Council and the Shannon Town Commissioners.
